There will be days you will wonder where her smile has gone and if you ask her, she will tell you that everything is okay. It is. She's just doing what she's always done. Letting those damned demons of her past pay her a visit to remind her that she's come so far, but still … Continue reading Where She Never Fails

Where Evil Dwells
I might have seen the truth, If I'd known that it was there; Hidden beneath the darkness Of a world that didn't care. Instead I saw the light As it shone upon my face, And listened to the stream As it flowed in all its grace. I sang about the fairies And their magic pixie … Continue reading Where Evil Dwells
Secret Dreams
With words I show the world outside Who resides beneath my skin; Revealed in multi-faceted lights The diamond glitters within. The ever changing wind does blow; my soul never stops its sway. The language of love, of hate, of joy With tears of sorrow play. And deeper still, beyond the walls Of my inner protector's … Continue reading Secret Dreams
Devil Mouse
I heard your car pull up. It was the first time I'd ever wished I had thumbs, at least then I'd have a chance to clean all this up; I knew I was about to be in a lot of trouble. I knew your routine, you'd sit in the car long enough to listen to … Continue reading Devil Mouse
Hey Blondie
I was dreaming. I recognized that voice by the laughter each syllable contained. "Uncle Phil?" "Really, Blondie, who else?" I shook my head and wiped my eyes with the back of my hand. "This isn't possible!" He cocked his head, his glasses tilting just a little off his nose as his hair caressed his jaw, … Continue reading Hey Blondie
Breath on my Neck
*The following is a "dialogue-only" flash fiction work. "Would you stop that?" "What?" "I can feel your breath on my neck." "Do you like it?" "Stop reading over my shoulder." "You didn't answer my question." "Did you know Mrs. Campbell died?" "Nope." "Heart attack, it says." "I see. Why do you read that morbid stuff? … Continue reading Breath on my Neck
Write About an Ending
I read the challenge for the week, hoping it would speak to me; but it all seemed bleak to me. So I pick up my pen to try again, searching out the inspiration held within. Write about an ending. But I must admit, I'm not feeling it. Not that I don't give a shit; those … Continue reading Write About an Ending
The Poems I’m Not Supposed to Write
I seek no absolution, no forgiveness, no applause; I speak out of anger, I write for my cause. I'll scream to the skies, whisper through hell forcing upon you nightmares I know well.
The Value of Words
It is important to be an individual, to think and speak for yourself. It is imperative that you become your own person with your own thoughts and beliefs. Argue. Debate. And stand your ground. Respectfully. Do not belittle, degrade, or humiliate another. Do not say things you will regret. Do not allow another to sway your beliefs without just cause. Be strong but gentle when you can and firm when you must. Do not fear what is different, but instead see the beauty in uniqueness. Keep an open mind and do not judge. Never allow another to burden you with their ignorance. And always, always, always, remember the power of words.
She Will Be …
Slowly, she awakens. Yawns. Stretches. Opens her eyes and take a long, deep breath. The stench remains: rancid flesh, decayed heart, still festering wounds. Shattered pieces of soul remain where they fell, a field of diamonds sparkling beneath the sun. A warrior, she stands amid the chaos; her gaze wanders from one broken seam to … Continue reading She Will Be …
