We are all made up of bits & pieces – the tiny parts of our selves that, when perfectly put together, are the best, most authentic, representation of us. These are the bits of us that others see, that they don’t see – that we openly share, try to hide, deny, feel ashamed of, find pride in – the unique, beautiful, scarred, relatable, loved and hated bits – each and every bit, a single thread in the tapestry of our soul – of the wonderfully and fearfully made being God created.
Through this blog, I invite you to share my Bits. This is me. This is my life. My crazy, sometimes totally random, thought process. This is my public service announcement. My confessional. My silence broken. I cannot promise that you will learn anything exciting or that my opinions will always have you cheering from the sidelines. I cannot promise that it will always be sunshine, rainbows, and unicorn farts. And I cannot promise that, every once in a while, despite my good intentions, I will never drop a curse word, an imperfect attitude or a lack of grace.
But I can promise that I will always be real. That I am doing my best on a daily basis to walk the talk I talk and to live a life that reflects the love and mercy I have been shown by God. Every bit of me is imperfect. Every bit of me is full of sin and ungodliness and unrighteousness. And every Bit of me loves Jesus and is loved BY Jesus.

Sometimes they’re as simple as “What do I need to improve on?” or “What is my greatest weakness right now?” or “How can I use my gifts today?”. Sometimes, they’re really not “basic” questions, but more like: “How could I … Continue reading “What do you want to do for the rest of your life?”

I’ve been known over the years under a few different pen names (the result of an ever evolving and growing writer, or that could just be an excuse for my indecisiveness and the ever changing tides in my life) – “ShadowedHeart,” the “SparkleNinja,” “Brouhaha Brulee,” “FrankieB.” And now, I’ve come full … Continue reading Hello, my name is …
