The Basic Bits …

Hello, my name is Bran … And here are TEN basic Facts about Me you Should know before you step/dive/slide sideways into my blog:

  1. I love Jesus. I am so grateful for the grace and mercy he shows me in my imperfection. Every. Single. Day.
  2. I’m a wife and a mama. I love my little family with all my heart and soul – that will always be at the forefront of everything I am. My husband (who, for a pretend attempt at privacy will hereinafter be referred to as “Beans”) and I have been married since 2017. We have a beautiful son (“Dooder”) and Beans is “Reeber” to my daughter (“Bugg”).
  3. I really do need that grace EVERY SINGLE DAY. I am imperfect – flawed – scarred – and full of sin. Without his Grace, the Lord only knows where I’d be today (but I can promise you it would be somewhere falling off the cliff of insanity).
  4. I love Tacos. No further explanation needed.
  5. I work, full-time, from home and school my children, full time, from home my children are getting ready to start public schooling.
  6. I am not an expert on ANYTHING. I have opinions (sometimes quite big ones) and I have experiences, but in reality, the only thing I am even close to being an expert on is making a mess of things and writing about it in a way that helps me to laugh at my own mishaps.
  7. I hold some “not-so-popular” opinions and I’m okay with you disagreeing with them.
  8. I love books. Old books. New books. Slightly used books. I love to read. I love to look at them as they fill up my bookshelf. I love to shop for them. If you ever need a gift for me, books plus tacos = the perfect gift.
  9. I survived 15 years of domestic abuse and violence (yes, you read that right – no it is not a typo – FIFTEEN years.). I have c-PTSD, Panic Disorder, Depression, and GAD on top of PCOS. My scars run deep and I live every day trying to outsmart my own trauma responses – but regardless of my struggle, I am thriving and learning to be better than I was yesterday. One day and one prayer at a time.
  10. I am still growing – evolving – learning. I make mistakes every day. Some days, I can barely crawl through each moment – other days I feel as though I have been blessed with a cool breeze in my sails to help deliver me to my next stop along the way. But no matter what I face and no matter how the waters may toss me about – I know that Jesus has my hand inside his and he will never let me go.

I am ever grateful for those of you who have traveled this road with me up to this moment, and equally grateful for those of you who are just now joining my adventure. Welcome. Take your shoes off and stay a while. Fix yourself a cup of tea or an iced coffee. Snuggle up with your favorite blanket. I know we will be great friends.
