Secret Dreams

With words I show the world outside
Who resides beneath my skin;
Revealed in multi-faceted lights
The diamond glitters within.

The ever changing wind does blow;
my soul never stops its sway.
The language of love, of hate, of joy
With tears of sorrow play.

And deeper still, beyond the walls
Of my inner protector’s lair,
Lives the child of broken dreams
With hopes in ill repair.

And yet…

Blooming in my heart’s meadow,
Amid the trampled roses,
Stands a lonely yellow daisy
On which no one imposes.

And there upon its petals
Are etched my most secret desires
Waiting ever so patiently
for one to ignite passion’s fire.
